PHILIPPINE BUSINESS FOR SOCIAL PROGRESS (PBSP)

The Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia being the only non-profit consortium of corporations leading the advocacy on and the practice of corporate social responsibility, (CSR) and corporate, citizenship.

The PBSP awards grants to businesses and social enterprises like Rags2Riches, Inc. The amount of grant given is based on the immediate business need of the receiving organization.

MEGAWORLD CORPORATION - EASTWOOD CITY MALL

Eastwood City Mall is a project of Megaworld Corporation, a Philippines-based company. The Company is engaged in engaged in real estate development, leasing and marketing. The Company has three primary business segments: real estate sales of residential and office developments, leasing of office space, primarily to business process outsourcing (BPO) enterprises, and retail space, and management of hotel operations. Megaworld Land, Inc. provides a leasing service to the Company by locating tenants for rental properties and coordinating relations with brokers primarily in relation to Eastwood Cyberpark.

This 2009, Megaworld Corporation and Eastwood City Mall has partnered with Rags2Riches for its Enviro-Chic Bag. The Enviro-Chic Bag is made exclusively by Rajo Laurel. The purchase of the Eastwood Mall Enviro-Chic Bag supports the cause of Rags2Riches and the Philippine National Red Cross.

AYALA LAND - NUVALI EVOLIVING

Nuvali Evoliving is Ayala Land's Urban Cornerstone in the South. A fully-sustainable development of the Ayala Land. Nuvali Evoliving promotes a lifestyle of responsiblity and sustainability that prospers among diverse spaces, activities and services. As part of these thrusts, Nuvali Evoliving has partnered with Rags2Riches Inc. in creating an Eco Shopping bag that is a complete definition of what Nuvali and Rags2Riches stand for.

INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL MANILA

The InterContinental Hotel Manila is a cultural showplace in Makati City designed by National Artist of the Philippines Leandro Locsin. It is a symbol of pride in the financial and commercial hub. Across from the Greenbelt and Glorietta shopping and entertainment districts, the hotel is also near the Ayala Museum and the walled city of Intramuros. The island fortress of Corregidor is a worthwhile outing.

Aside from it being a cultural showplace, it has also become a venue for the Rags2Riches products, proudly made by the empowered women of Payatas

This has been extended further by awarding grants to social business enterprises that propagates eco-ethical ways of doing business with communities and other trading partners; from which Rags2Riches Inc has also benefited.

MasterCard Purchase with Purpose

Purchase with Purpose is the platform for MasterCard's social responsibility and citizenship efforts across the Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa region. It is at the heart of a drive by MasterCard to encourage responsible spending and make a difference, either to one's own life or someone else's.

Purchase with Purpose enables cardholders to play a part in giving back to the community when they use their MasterCard cards. It supports key areas of focus for MasterCard--women and education--by giving the underprivileged a chance at learning a skill. championing further education, raising awareness of health issues, supporting the cause of environmental protection, among others.

For every purchase made from September 28, 2009 to December 31, 2009, MasterCard will be giving USD$1 per transaction to the Rags2Riches Enterprise Activation Program (REAP), a "mini-MBA" set up for the members of the Rags2Riches' adopted communities.

SMART TALK 'N TEXT Tipid-Sulit Pinas

As part of its commitment to empower Filipinos especially during times of crisis, Talk 'N Text, one of the country's leading mobile service brands, recently launched Tipid-Sulit Pinas! -- an advocacy campaign that reinforces the value of making the most of limited resources. The campaign also aims to motivate people, epecially those experiencing the financial pinch, to recognize opportunities that, through ingenuity, hard work, and perseverance, can provide much needed additional sources of income.

Tipid-Sulit Pinas! believes that Filipinos have and continue to overcome crisis situations by using disckarteng Tipid-Sulit as a tool. Tipid-Sulit Pinas! has partnered with organizations including Rags2Riches which has successfully adopted the same Tipid-Sulit strategy in helping communities get back on their feet and become an inspiration for others.

Creamsilk has been with us since Rags2Riches started. They journeyed with us from the day we first launched our collection and shared to the world the story of how a social cause could make good business sense, and vice versa. And today, we are looking on to a brighter future with Creamsilk as they support Rags2Riches through another creative partnership. We are creating an Eco-Ethical environment for all, and this includes our community members. We have been dreaming and working towards an Eco-Ethical production site that will house sewing machines, equipments, and training materials, for our Rags2Riches Communities. This is a production site that will foster creativity, empowerment, and Eco-Ethical values. With Cream Silk’s support, this dream will rise this 2010.

Dr. Vivian Sarabia will also give an inspirational talk about her successful journeys in life and business, to the Rags2Riches community members. This talk will be captured on video for future Rags2Riches communities to get inspiration from. Vivian Sarabia Optical, CIBA Vision, and Rags2Riches, Inc, will also be unveiling a limited edition, numbered collection of the RIIR for Vivian Sarabia-CIBA Vision contact lens cases, this December.
